When you’ve embarked on the journey to a more sustainable life it’s easy to get angry and disappointed at others who simply doesn’t seem to give a sh*t about the planet (and people and animals). To stay motivated it’s crucial to find strategies to deal with disappointments.
How to make the change
When you see people act in destructive ways, keep in mind that you can’t change someone who is not willing or ready to change. Instead, do your thing and let your actions speak for themselves. Some people will be influenced, and some won’t. Some might even feel provoked by you. Remember, saving the planet is not a contest, it’s something we do because we feel it’s the right thing to do. And because well, somebody has to start the green revolution, right?
Why make the change?
You never know what hardships a person is going through. For example; if your husband is fighting cancer, perhaps the environment won’t be your biggest priority at the moment. Or if you are depressed you might not have the energy to think about anything other than getting through the day. Be kind, always. The difficult ones might be the ones that need it the most.
Be a climate ninja
When you see someone who’s clearly not in tune with the planet (and themselves), send them a positive thought. Wish them well, instead of feeling resentment or anger. We’re all trying as hard as we can. And even if they’re not trying at all, love them anyways and stay focused on your own path.
